1. How do people dress at Grace?
We have an intragenerational church. Some wear coats and ties, others are comfortable in shorts. Our pastor generally preaches in Khaki’s or jeans. We do tend to dress up a little more for Easter, Mother’s Day, and Christmas. The rule of thumb is come as you are.
2. What is the worship service like?
The most important thing to us is that God shows up. The Bible says that happens when 2 or more are gathered in His name. We start with a pre-service prayer time at 9:15 & 10:45 for any who would like to come in early and get ready. The doors open at 9:25 and 10:55 to allow everyone in to get a bulletin and find a seat. After some announcements and a welcoming word to our first time guests our worship team will lead us in usually about 3-4 worship songs followed by an offering and prayer. Finally Pastor Colin will deliver a message that is Biblical and practical. We tend to dismiss around 10:35 for first service and noon for second service.
On the first Sunday of every month we serve communion during the prayer time. We practice open communion, which means you don’t have to be a member of the church to participate. Our only requirement is the one we find in scripture...that you have a current relationship with Christ by grace through faith in what He did for you on the cross.
3. What do you have for my kids on Sunday?
When you arrive our greeters will direct you to where you can sign your kids in to our safe zone so they can go to their age appropriate classes. After service, kids can be picked up using the code you were given at registration.
During service we offer nursery for 3 and under, preschool kids church for 4 & 5 year olds, and KIDS church for 1st grade through 6th.
7th-12th graders join the adults in the worship service.
4. How do we get connected?
The most important first step is to fill out the tear-off part of the bulletin that will give us the information we need to follow-up with you. Once you’ve filled it out you can drop it in the offering plate or place it in the offering box at the back of the sanctuary. When we follow-up we will not send someone to your house unless you request it. Mainly we just don’t want you to fall through the cracks. We love visitors, and want you to know that you and your family are important to us. So you can either expect an email or a phone call from Pastor Colin. Recently we've added a new way to start the connection process and that is through a text. You can simply text "welcome" to 817-969-4242 and we will start working hard to welcome you and your family.
